Highlights from decorative painting
My decorative work still provides a lot of creative enjoyment, I am currently working on a 32 ft long and 9 ft high exterior mural that is a fantastical forrest.
Lynda Stephens and I worked on a very high end project painting faux limestone in a penthouse office overlooking Beacon Hill Park in Boston. We also did many other projects in Boston.
I had the honor of painting the oldest house in Falmouth MA. That was so fun and interesting. I felt part of something historic.
It is rewarding to know that my work is in restaurants around Victoria BC. It feels like I’m a part of the place even when I’m gone. Some furniture pieces I have repurposed show up here and there as well. I like to think of it as leaving my calling card. “Leah Langefeld was here”.
In Palm Springs I have completed a couple of interior cactus murals. I love them. Learning how to do paintings of cactus was fun!!
My next painting is of the nasturtiums at the Isabella Gardener Museum in Boston. Such an amazing sight when they feature them. I’m so excited to be painting an image of that.
